Program Overview
Northern Arizona University's Master of Public Administration
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Northern Arizona University is a NASPAA-accredited program that prepares students for leadership careers in public and nonprofit administration. This program is available online, offering flexibility for continuing students or those already working in public service.
Program Curriculum
The curriculum has been developed by dedicated faculty and alumni, offering a deeper understanding of:

Graduate Certificates
The university also offers fully online graduate certificates in:
- Public administration (12 total credits)
- Election administration (at the graduate or undergraduate level) (15 credits) With the successful completion of one of these certificates, all credits can be transferred towards the completion of the MPA degree.
Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Program
Current undergraduate students majoring in Public Administration may be eligible to pursue the Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Program, reducing the 36-unit MPA course requirements by up to 12 units.
Degree Completion
- 60% of students complete the Masters of Public Administration within 2 years.
- 65% of students complete the Masters of Public Administration within 5 years.
