Chemistry (BS) Program

The Chemistry major is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the principles of chemistry. The major requirements include courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry, as well as electives in areas such as biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering.

Program Requirements

The Chemistry major requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, including:

• 40 credit hours of general education courses
  • Courses that provide a broad-based education
• 30 credit hours of chemistry courses
  • Courses that cover the principles of chemistry
• 20 credit hours of elective courses
  • Courses that allow students to explore areas of interest
• 30 credit hours of free electives
  • Courses that allow students to pursue additional interests
