Program Overview


Introduction to the Baumhart Certificate in Environmental, Social, and Governance

The Baumhart Certificate in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is designed to provide leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively navigate the complex issues surrounding ESG. This certificate program is tailored to equip leaders with the fundamental skills to assess ESG risks and opportunities, implement ESG initiatives, and deliver financial and societal impacts.


Curriculum

The certificate requires the completion of five courses, totaling 15 credit hours. The curriculum includes two ESG-focused courses and three elective courses chosen from the Quinlan School of Business, the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health, and the School of Environmental Sustainability.


  • Introductory Course:
    • MGMT 444: Introduction to ESG - Expectations & Opportunities (3 hours)

The Baumhart Certificate in ESG aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:


  • Develop a strong grounding in the overall themes of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) through a required introductory class and a required capstone class.
  • Develop an understanding of the core methods for assessing ESG impact.
  • Establish an understanding of the current state of the industry and the opportunities to deepen on-the-ground impacts tied to the ESG high-level framework.
