Addiction Medicine Fellowship

Program Overview

The University of Texas at San Antonio is proud to offer an ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Addiction Medicine. This Fellowship is focused on prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with the disease of addiction.


Program Details

  • The Fellowship is 12 months in duration.
  • Fellows rotate through a variety of clinical settings and learn from excellent teaching faculty.
  • Clinical experience is supplemented with:
    • Weekly didactic sessions
    • Grand Rounds
    • Journal Club
  • Fellows have protected time and mentorship towards self-directed scholarly activities or research projects.
  • Board eligibility requirements will be complete after 12 months of training.

Training and Curriculum

  • The program provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers all aspects of addiction medicine.
  • Fellows gain experience in a variety of clinical settings, including:
    • Inpatient and outpatient treatment centers
    • Rehabilitation facilities
