Program Overview

The Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellowship at UT Health San Antonio's Department of Family & Community Medicine offers specific training in Primary Care Behavioral Health Consultation. Psychology fellows will complete their major rotation at the Family Health Center, the continuity clinic for the UT Health San Antonio Family Medicine Residency.


Program Details

Responsibilities

  • Functioning as a Behavioral Health Consultant
  • Assisting in the supervision of family medicine residents, medical students, and psychology residents/externs
  • Engaging in a quality improvement/research project during the training year

Additional Opportunities

  • Candidates with interest and/or experience in consultation-liaison services within an inpatient medical setting may have the opportunity to work with patients and trainees on the inpatient Family Medicine service
  • A minor rotation (up to 20% FTE) with the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinic will be incorporated into the fellow's learning plan to support professional development towards a well-rounded health service psychologist in primary care
