Program Overview
Office for Research Grant Development Program
The Office for Research Grant Development Program is designed to support the research grant development of basic and clinical faculty at UT Health San Antonio. The program focuses on breaking down each component of a grant proposal and providing peer-mentorship to set participants up for a successful submission.
Program Description
Competitive grant proposals are critical for a successful and rewarding research career. The program is led by Dr. David Gius, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Research, who is an accomplished physician/scientist with a CPRIT Established Investigator Award and a UT STARS award. He is a principal investigator of three NIH-R01 grants and has mentored 22 faculty members, 13 of whom are NCI-funded investigators.
Program Facilitator
Dr. David Gius, MD, Ph.D., leads the grant development program. His expertise is ideally situated to support the research grant development of basic and clinical faculty at UT Health San Antonio.

Institution
The University of Texas at San Antonio, located at 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229, is the academic health center of The University of Texas at San Antonio. It includes schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health professions, graduate biomedical sciences, and public health, and a clinical enterprise called UT Health San Antonio, which conducts 2.5 million patient visits yearly.
