Program Overview
UT Health San Antonio's Department of Urology is designed for urologists seeking a career in urologic oncology by providing comprehensive training that fosters clinical excellence and research initiative. The University of Texas cancer programs are amongst the best in the United States and our graduates are well poised to become future leaders in the field.
Our goal is to train academic urologic oncologists, highly skilled surgeons and multidisciplinary subject-matter experts in urologic oncology. Our SUO accredited fellowship is a 2-year program with one year of protected research and one clinical year. The program can be tailored to reflect each fellow's individual clinical and research interests.

Application Requirements
This fellowship is a Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO) approved program and as such is governed by its rules and regulations. Applicants to the UT Health San Antonio fellowship program must meet the following criteria:
- Graduation from an accredited ACGME or ICGME residency program in Urology.
- Successful completion of the USMLE steps 1, 2 and 3.
- Able to obtain a Texas medical license or Permit in Training from the Texas Medical Board.
