Program Overview


Introduction to the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) / Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Innovation in Health and Social Well-Being

The Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) / Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Innovation in Health and Social Well-Being is a pioneering program designed to address the government's top priority for Innovation & Technology Development. This program aims to promote social and technological innovations that advance health and social well-being, catering to students from all academic backgrounds who are enthusiastic about innovative social and technology solutions.


Programme Overview

The program consists of two concentrations:


  • Health and Social Wellness
  • Health Technology and Informatics

These concentrations are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the interdisciplinary aspects of health and social well-being, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive innovation in these fields.


Programme Activities

The program includes various activities such as:


  • End-of-Life Care Education Workshop
  • Exploring Innovations in Health Informatics with the Hospital Authority
  • Collaborative Activities with Shanghai University of Sport

These activities are integral to the program, offering students hands-on experience and exposure to real-world applications of the concepts learned in the classroom.


Curriculum Framework

The teaching approach is informed by cutting-edge research, particularly in the areas of Interdisciplinary Research, Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence, and System Health. Multiple pedagogies are adopted, including research-led learning, problem-based and solution-driven learning, service-learning, and guided study led by academic advisors.
