Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) / Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) program is a four-year, full-time undergraduate degree that offers a comprehensive education in the social sciences. European Studies (French/German)

The European Studies major provides students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Europe, with a focus on the social sciences. The major includes intensive language training in French or German, as well as the opportunity to participate in a year-long academic exchange or professional internship in Europe.


Geography

The Geography major provides students with a solid foundation in geographic theory and methods, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret human social and environmental problems from a geographic perspective. The major aims to enable students to:

Global and China Studies

  • Analyzing global political economy and social cultural processes using interdisciplinary knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of China

Politics and International Relations

The Politics and International Relations major provides students with a solid foundation in political science, including comparative politics, public administration, international relations, political economy, political theory, statistics, and research methods. The major has several distinctive features:

  • HKDSE: students must have obtained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language, and Level 2 or above in Mathematics and Liberal Studies
  • Post-Secondary: students must have completed a post-secondary qualification, such as a diploma or associate degree, and have met the program's admission requirements
  • Mainland JEE: students must have completed their secondary education in mainland China and have met the program's admission requirements
  • International Qualifications: students must have completed their secondary education outside of Hong Kong and have met the program's admission requirements
