Program Overview


Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management

The Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management is a part-time program designed to equip students with the necessary HR knowledge and skills in areas such as recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation management, and employee communication.


Programme Features

This program aims to combine both theoretical and practical aspects of human resource management, enabling students to effectively manage people and achieve organizational goals. The program consists of five courses, totaling 150 hours.


Programme Structure

The program consists of the following courses:


  • HRM4201: Recruitment and Selection Management (30 hours)
  • HRM4202: Human Resources Training and Development (30 hours)
  • HRM4203: Performance Management (30 hours)
  • HRM4204: Compensation Management (30 hours)
  • HRM4205: Employee Relations and Communication (30 hours)

Award

Students who obtain a passing grade in each course will be awarded the Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management.

  • Application Fee: HK$150 (non-refundable)
  • Tuition Fee: HK$17,850 (payable in three installments)

Course Schedule and Venue

Classes will be held on weekday evenings (normally two classes per week) at SCE Learning Centres.


Minimum Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:


  • Level 2 in five HKDSE subjects, including English and Chinese, and two years of relevant work experience
  • Successful completion of Diploma Yi Jin and two years of relevant work experience
  • Holder of a relevant School of Continuing Education (SCE) Diploma or Certificate or other equivalent non-SCE qualifications
  • Aged 21 or above, preferably with three years of relevant work experience

Application Procedure

Applicants may submit their applications through the online system or by hard-copy submission via mail or in-person.


Exemption and Transfer of Credit

Students can apply for credit transfer or exemption under certain conditions. Credit transfer will be considered if students have completed required courses offered by the School prior to admission. Exemption will be considered if students possess demonstrated competence equivalent to the learning outcomes of the course to be studied.


Limitations for Credit Transfer/Exemption

The maximum exemption and credit transfer is limited to half of the total number of program hours for programs at Levels 1 and 2. For programs at Level 3 or above, the maximum exemption is limited to one quarter of the total number of program hours, while the sum of exemption and credit transfer is still limited to half of the total number of program hours.

An information seminar will be held on January 28, 2026, at 7 pm, where applicants can learn more about the program and ask questions.
