Program Overview
Program Overview
The program in question is focused on Digital Transformation, aiming to equip students with fundamental knowledge and methodological competencies in this area.
Competencies
Students participating in this program will acquire competencies to understand, analyze, and evaluate the drivers, central characteristics, and implications of digital transformation from technological, entrepreneurial, and societal perspectives. They will gain an overview of the core requirements of such a change process and possible "tools" or approaches to manage continuous change. Additionally, students will develop basic design competencies for managing digital transformation, including entrepreneurial action. The program also fosters presentation competencies, entrepreneurial thinking, and teamwork.
Course Content
The program includes several components:
- Introduction to Digital Transformation: This lecture provides an overview of selected topics around digital transformation, including the basics of change processes with a special focus on the management of (digital) innovations, the development and effects of digitization, challenges from a technological perspective (such as technologies and enablers of digital value creation), challenges from an economic/entrepreneurial perspective (e.g., digital business models and business model innovations), and challenges from a societal perspective (e.g., the impact on employees/workforce).
- Deepening of Digital Transformation: Through this exercise, concepts and insights from the lecture are transferred into independent, practice-oriented applicability. Current and practice-relevant questions in the context of digital transformation are processed with and by companies, allowing students to experience and understand the effects of digitization on companies, employees, and customers.
- Seminar on Digital Transformation: The seminar focuses on recognizing one's own strengths and weaknesses and one's own profile, enabling students to learn about their personality and competencies in teamwork. It also highlights communication between interdisciplinary team members.
