The Certificate in Criminal Justice (CertCJ) is a professionally relevant qualification for those already employed within the sector who wish to enhance their current skills and knowledge. It is also suitable for those wanting a career change into the criminal justice fields, or who are only available to study part-time, or not wanting to study the full Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree.

Online Study Option

You can study either on campus or exclusively online. The online programme follows different term dates and has a more prescribed course list.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in the certificate, you will need:


  • University Entrance (or equivalent).
  • If English is not your first language, you are also required to meet UC's Undergraduate language requirements.

Degree Structure

The Certificate of Criminal Justice is made up of 60 points of courses at 100-level, including CRJU101 Introduction to Criminal Justice, and three elective courses from the Bachelor of Criminal Justice. It can be completed in a minimum of one semester full-time (6 months), or up to a maximum of 4 years part-time.
