Master of Human Interface Technology
Introduction
Human Interface Technology takes a human-centred approach to the analysis, design, and development of interactive technologies to better meet users' needs.
The Master of Human Interface Technology (MHIT) programme offers cutting-edge research opportunities and hands-on experience in immersive technologies including mixed reality, virtual and augmented reality, applied games design, haptics, and AI. This technology is useful in a wide range of areas such as education and training, game development, disaster management, health and medicine, tourism, sport, and business.
Degree Structure
The MHIT consists of a thesis worth 90 points and 30 points of coursework.
- The degree is to be completed full-time over 1 year, and starts in February each year.

Entry Requirements
To enrol, you should have an honours degree in Computer Science, Design, Psychology, or another appropriate field.
- If English is not your first language, you are also required to meet UC's Postgraduate language requirements.
Subjects and Courses
Study covers a wide range of topics including user-centred design, the development of new interface devices and technologies (hardware and software), evaluating these technologies within the application context, and studying the broader impact on human behaviour and society.
