The Master of Health Sciences is a 24-month full-time program, with part-time options available. This 240-point research pathway consists of two parts.

Program Structure

The program is divided into two parts, with the following compulsory courses:

• Part I:

  • HLTH460 Epidemiology and Critical Appraisal
  • ENVR404 Environmental Toxicology
  • ENVR415 Environmental Risk Assessment
  • GEOG404 Resource and Environmental Management (REM) in New Zealand
  • GISC422 Foundations of Geographic Information Systems and Science
• Part II:
  • HLTH690 MHealSc Thesis OR HLTH697 Health Sciences Thesis
  • 30 points of approved Health Sciences courses
