Program Overview

University Program Information

The university offers various programs for students to undertake wireless research at the Wireless Research Centre (WRC).

Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons))

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) program can apply to undertake wireless research at WRC. BE(Hons) students can complete their final year Honours project through the WRC in their Third Professional Year.

Disciplines

Most BE(Hons) students at WRC come from the following disciplines:

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering

Course Requirements

The 400-level courses taken for the Third Professional Year vary depending on the Engineering discipline. For example, students doing Electrical and Electronic Engineering need to enrol in ENEL400 and are encouraged to take both ENEL420 Advanced Signals and ENEL422 Communications Engineering. Students should consult their Third Professional Year Director of Studies for their Engineering discipline when selecting final year courses.

Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons))

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons)) program, specifically those in the Computer Science and Software Engineering programme who have achieved a First or Second Class Honours, can apply to do a WRC research project.
