Program Overview


Introduction to Creative Industries and Contemporary Practice

The Creative Industries and Contemporary Practice specialisation is designed for individuals who wish to combine artistic and business skills to pursue a career within the creative industries. This specialisation allows students to study at least two areas of the creative arts of their choice, including music and audio, film and media, art, and creative writing, through applied learning and theory.


What Will My Study Involve?

The study involves key industry skills like management, marketing, and communication. Students can choose their courses based on the creative industries they want to work in. The program includes practical projects, and students can opt for a final-year internship or a podcasting experience.


Courses

The Creative Industries and Contemporary Practice specialisation is offered within the Bachelor of Arts. The specialisation groups courses from different subjects into a central theme. Each year, students have the opportunity to focus their studies on two industry areas: music, screen/media, art, and writing practice. The final year includes an internship or a podcast project focused on the chosen areas.

  • 300-level:

    • Plus 60 points chosen from the following, with at least 30 selected from two categories:
