Introduction to Digital Screen
The Digital Screen program at the University of Canberra (UC) offers students the opportunity to develop complex digital content for cinema and games, from preproduction to premiere. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the entertainment media industry, which is growing in complexity with the merging of visual effects, immersive design, and technology.
Program Overview
The Digital Screen program at UC gives students the full experience of developing stories for cinema and games, through all the stages of creating digital content, from preproduction through to premiere. The program involves learning the processes, roles, and planning that go into producing digital media, with projects each year. Students will develop technical skills in their chosen creative field, including 2D and 3D art design, music and sound, CGI and animation, film production, and more.

Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours
The Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours degree includes compulsory courses, as well as the option to study towards one of the available majors. Students can also choose to do a minor in the degree from the above list, or from subjects in other degrees.
Certificate in Indigenous Narrative
The Certificate in Indigenous Narrative is designed as professional development for those already in the digital media industry, aiming to upskill their indigenous awareness and representation.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Digital Screen program will develop adaptable skills to produce virtual and live media, and will find work in film/television and gaming industries, as well as in creative media such as publications, marketing, advertising, and editing/writing roles. The program teaches the foundations of storytelling, including how stories change through sound, images, and interaction, and how to include different elements to affect the viewer/reader/player.
Facilities and Resources
UC's new Digital Screen facilities offer the latest technologies in entertainment production, including a Virtual Screen Production stage, editing suites, and sound mixing studios. These facilities provide students with hands-on experience and access to industry-standard equipment, preparing them for a successful career in the digital media industry.
