Program Details

Sosiaali- ja terveysalan yrittäjyys (Social and Health Care Entrepreneurship)

• The program is designed for those who want to become entrepreneurs in the social and health care sector or who are already working as entrepreneurs in the field.
• The program focuses on evidence-based management and development of entrepreneurship in the social and health care sector.
• Students will gain theoretical knowledge of the field and the ability to acquire researched information to support their business operations, as well as the ability to start their own business or develop an existing one.

Admission Criteria

• The program is intended for individuals who have completed a university of applied sciences degree or a corresponding institute-level degree.
• Entrepreneurship in the social and health care sector is human-centered, so care, care, and empathy are the core contents of the work of social and health care entrepreneurs.

Research Areas

• The social and health care sector is undergoing significant change with the implementation of the sote reform, which has brought uncertainty to companies in the field but also opens up new opportunities for business operations.
• There is a need for education in social and health care entrepreneurship, which has come from the field itself.
• The program is one of the few in Finland that focuses on social and health care entrepreneurship.
