This program focuses on the clinical expertise of diabetes care, specifically on the prevention and treatment of diabetes-related complications such as nephropathy and retinopathy.

Target Group

The program is suitable for nurses, public health nurses, midwives, and paramedics who have completed a university degree. It is also suitable for those who have completed a corresponding degree in the social and health care field.

Program Objectives

After completing the program, students will be able to:

• Master the etiology of diabetes-related complications and apply the principles of their care in a patient-centered manner.
• Analyze and evaluate the factors contributing to the development of complications from the perspective of a patient with diabetes.
• Utilize evidence-based care guidelines, research data, and good practices in the prevention and treatment of complications.
• Guide and support patients with diabetes in the prevention and treatment of complications.

Implementation

The program is implemented as continuous online studies. The online course includes tasks, tests, and discussions. The study time is two months, and students also have the opportunity to receive personal support from instructors via online connection.
