Program Overview

Yleisl‰‰ketiede Program

The Yleisl‰‰ketiede program provides specialized training in general medicine, enabling graduates to work in the social security sector in EU countries other than Finland. In Finland, the program duration is two years after graduating as a doctor.

Program Structure

The program consists of:

• 9 months of work experience in a training health center, in an employment relationship with the respective well-being area
• 6 months of training in a hospital
• Up to 9 months of optional work experience, with a maximum of 6 months in another university-approved institution or unit focused on general medicine

YEK-Koulutus

Yleisl‰‰ketieteen erityiskoulutus (YEK) provides eligibility to work in the social security sector in other EU countries. The program includes:

• 9 months of work experience in a training health center
• 6 months of training in a hospital
• Optional work experience

Theoretical Training

Course Details

• Terveydenhuollon hallinto ja sosiaaliturvaj‰rjestelm‰, Monimuoto-opetus 7.9.5.10.2026: The course starts on 7.9.2026 on the Moodle platform and includes a theoretical day on 5.10.2026 at the Kaupin campus.
• Registration for the course is through Sisussa: 16.2..001.9..59.
