The university program focuses on providing education and training in various aspects of security and safety. The program is designed to cater to different levels of education and is suitable for teaching and guidance staff in basic education, secondary education, and liberal adult education.

Program Structure

The program consists of several courses, each with its own set of objectives and content. The courses include:

• Safety skills in the daily life of the educational institution (5 ECTS)
• Safety in vocational training (2 ECTS)
• Safety management (2 credits)
• Prevention of bullying, discrimination and harassment (2 credits)
• Safety manual (2 credits)
• Cyber security of the educational institution (2 ECTS)
• Multiculturalism in educational institutions safety perspective (2 ECTS)

Course Details

Safety manual (2 credits)

This course focuses on the creation, updating, and implementation of security plans. The course is suitable for all levels of education.

• Objectives: The course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to create and implement security plans.
• Content:
  • Responsibilities of educational institutions' security planning
  • The educational institution's safety culture and safety management
  • Contents of the security folder
  • Rescue plan as part of the safety folder
  • Drafting and updating the documents of the security folder
  • Implementation of security documents
• Target Group: The course is designed for teaching and guidance staff in basic education, secondary education, and liberal adult education.
• Teacher: Pirkanmaa rescue service, leading fire inspector Perttu Mukkala and leading fire inspector Arto Kärki
• Implementation: The course is implemented through independent study, contact teaching/online lectures, and remote assignments.
