Higher Degree Program in Effective Digital Care and Service Solutions

Overview

The Higher Degree Program in Effective Digital Care and Service Solutions is a higher education program focused on developing digital healthcare and service solutions. The program aims to equip students with the skills to design, develop, and evaluate digital solutions that improve healthcare services and patient outcomes.


Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nurse, health nurse, midwife, paramedic, bioanalyst, x-ray nurse, physiotherapist, social worker, or dental hygienist or equivalent earlier polytechnic degree and at least two years of work experience in the social, health, and sports sector.

Program Structure

  • The program consists of 90 credits, including:
    • Advanced professional studies (30 credits)
    • Freely chosen studies (30 credits)
    • Thesis (30 credits)

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:


  • Design, develop, and evaluate digital healthcare and service solutions from a customer-centric perspective

Career Opportunities

Graduates will be qualified to work in expert, development, and management positions related to digital healthcare and service solutions. The degree also provides Eligibility for public positions and tasks requiring a higher university degree, as well as Eligibility to apply for vocational teacher education.


Further Studies

After completing the degree, students can pursue pedagogical studies for teachers either in a university of applied sciences or a university, leading to a teaching qualification. Eligibility for Licentiate and doctoral studies at Universities is negotiated separately with each Faculty and department.


Assessment and Evaluation

The assessment of study achievements is based on TAMK's general assessment criteria. More detailed information on assessment and criteria can be found in the implementation plan of each study module. Teaching and assessment follow TAMK's degree regulations.


Graduation

Completing the studies and achieving the learning objectives to the extent specified in the curriculum is a prerequisite for graduation.


Implementation of Studies

Studies consist of independent study in a virtual learning environment and interactive remote meetings. Each student creates a personal study plan with an instructor-tutor. Studies can be completed alongside work in 1.5-2 years.


Development of the Degree

The curriculum is developed in cooperation with other TAMK YAMK educations. Cooperation with working life is realized through projects and thesis work implemented in working life, as well as through regular network cooperation and negotiation committee activities. Feedback is collected annually from students on different study modules and personal study plan discussions. Feedback is also collected regularly from graduates through electronic surveys.
