Program Overview


Introduction to the Micro MBA Program

The Micro MBA program is a mini-program designed for undergraduates, graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, post-docs, and junior scientists and engineers with a science or technical background. The program aims to provide MBA-level knowledge of business in English.


Program Details

  • The program is a tie-up with the University of California at San Diego (UCSD).
  • All sessions will be held in English.
  • A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants upon finishing the program, jointly issued by the Institute for Business and Finance, Waseda University, and the Rady School of Management, UCSD.

Program Schedule

  • The program consists of six lectures, with the following schedule:
    • Lecture 1: 19:00-21:00, Wednesday, February 25, 2026 (JST)
    • Lecture 2: 10:00-11:30, Saturday, February 28, 2026 (JST)
    • Lecture 3: 19:00-20:30, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 (JST)
    • Lecture 4: 10:00-11:30, Saturday, March 7, 2026 (JST)
    • Lecture 5: 19:00-20:30, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 (JST)
    • Lecture 6: 10:00-11:30, Saturday, March 14, 2026 (JST)
  • A certificate award ceremony will be held on March 14, 2026, from 11:30-12:00 (JST).

Requirements and Admission Criteria

  • Attendance for all six lectures is mandatory.
  • All lectures will be delivered in English, with a required level of English ability approximating 750 or above in TOEIC score for non-native English speakers.
  • All lectures will be provided online.

Application Deadline

  • The deadline for application is 15:00, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 (JST).

Host and Co-host

  • The program is hosted by the Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship Research Group at the Institute for Business and Finance, Waseda University.
  • Co-hosts include the Rady School of Management, UCSD, and the Waseda University Open Innovation Ecosystem Program for Pioneering Research (W-SPRING).
