Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA)

The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) is a 2-year full-time program jointly offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, and the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).

Program Overview

The PGDBA program is designed for individuals with an analytical mindset, interested in tackling challenging business problems, and possessing an inclination towards mathematics. The program aims to create business analytics professionals employable by leading Indian and foreign firms.

Program Structure

• The program is strictly residential, with students spending approximately six months at each of the three participating institutes.
• The program includes hands-on business analytics training at a related company and continuous interaction with industry leaders throughout the course of the diploma program.
• Students will have access to campus placement facilities at all three institutes.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

• Eligible candidates must apply online, uploading self-attested copies of all requested documents and paying an application fee.
• A computer-based test (CBT) will be held to shortlist candidates for personal interviews.
• The final offer will be made based on performance in the CBT, personal interview, academic background, and work experience.

Program Details

• Duration: The PGDBA program is a 2-year full-time program.
• Seats: The maximum number of seats in the PGDBA program is 65.
• Reservation Policy: The reservation policy of the Government of India is applicable for the PGDBA program.
• Campus Placement: The graduating students will have access to campus placement facilities at all three institutes.
• Convocation: The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics will be awarded at the convocation held at any of the three participating institutes after the completion of all program requirements.

Academic and Professional Development

• Internship: Students will be required to complete an internship-based project of five to six months on hands-on analytics experience at a business organization.
• Financial Assistance: There is liberal provision for need-based financial assistance for deserving candidates, and the program is recognized by banks for the purpose of educational loans.
• Attendance and Class Hours: Attendance rules and class hours will vary from semester to semester, following the norms prevailing at the host institute.

Admission and Selection

• Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 2500 (Rs. 1250 for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD).
• Last Date of Submission: The last date for submission of online applications is February 6, 2024.
• Computer-Based Test: The CBT will be held on March 17, 2024, to shortlist candidates for personal interviews.
• Personal Interviews: Personal interviews will be held on April 27-28, 2024.

Additional Information

• Gender Diversity Score: An additional 2 marks will be awarded to woman and transgender candidates as a gender diversity score on the PGDBA Admission Test score while shortlisting candidates for personal interviews.
• Program Recognition: The PGDBA program is recognized by banks for the purpose of educational loans.
