Program Overview

The Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) offers a general MBA program, allowing students to choose electives from various departments, schools, and centers within IIT Kharagpur based on their interests.

Program Details

• The program consists of four semesters, covering tuition fees, international immersion, room rent, teaching materials, library and computer facilities, hostel accommodation, mess charges, and other institutional fees.
• The total number of seats available for the program is 200.
• The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:10, with 23 core faculty members for about 230 students.

Fee Structure

• The fees for the MBA program are subject to revision and cover various expenses, including tuition, international immersion, and accommodation.
• The registration fee for the online application is Rs. 1600 for General/OBC/EWS category and Rs. 800 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Admission Criteria

Eligibility

• The eligibility criteria for the program can be found on the VGSoM website.
• VGSoM includes an EWS category as per Government of India regulations and follows the same for its admission process.

Application Process

• Applicants do not need to send hard copies of documents to IIT Kharagpur.
• Required documents for the application process include:
  • Scanned copy of age proof
  • Scanned copy of caste certificate for reserved categories
  • Scanned copies of mark sheets and graduation certificate
  • Proof of work experience
  • Copy of CAT scorecard

Selection Process

• Calls for personal interviews (PI) are given based on CAT scores and overall application rating.
• The final selection process involves a 40% weightage to PI, 20% to Application Rating (AR), and 40% to CAT score.
• An additional Gender Diversity Factor (GDF) is considered during the selection process, with four marks given to female candidates during short-listing and ten marks during the final selection.

Personal Interview

• The PI process is scheduled across three schedules in different cities.
• The interview will be conducted online, and shortlisted candidates will be informed of the dates on or before February 15.
• Requests for rescheduling of PI slots will not be entertained.

Micro Specialization

• VGSoM offers a micro specialization in Business Analytics, designed to help students meet industry requirements in the analytical field.
• The micro specialization has limited seats and can be chosen subject to a minimum set of criteria.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

• The withdrawal and refund policy will be in accordance with the rules of IIT Kharagpur, which will be notified in due time.

Loan Assistance

• The institute does not provide assistance in getting loans for fee payment.
• Students can choose to avail loans from any bank they deem suitable.
