Introduction to the Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program
The Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program (WI CPCP) is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, administrators, and staff. The program provides various services, including consultations, resources, education, and continuing medical education (CME) opportunities.
Program Components
- Consultations: The WI CPCP offers consultation services to primary care providers.
- Resources: The program provides resources such as newsletters, case studies, screening tools, and rating scales to help primary care providers identify and manage pediatric patients' mild to moderate mental health concerns.
- Newsletters and Case Studies: The WI CPCP publishes quarterly e-newsletters featuring medication facts, curated articles, links to resources, and in-depth case studies.
- Screening Tools and Rating Scales: The program offers screening tools, rating scales, practice parameters, and medication reference materials.
Education and CME
The WI CPCP provides education and CME opportunities for primary care providers, including:
- Online CME: Education modules developed by child psychiatrists and pediatric psychologists to help primary care practitioners learn more about managing pediatric mental health issues.
- Live Provider Education: The program presents live education on mental and behavioral health topics specifically designed for primary care providers.
- Clinic Staff Education: The WI CPCP offers Clinic Staff Educational content designed for nurses, medical assistants, and other clinic support staff in the primary care setting, containing online learning modules.
- Conference: The program hosts conferences where regional and national experts provide education on pediatric mental health topics.

Accreditation
The Medical College of Wisconsin is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The program designates various credits for physicians, allied health care professionals, and nurse practitioners, including AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, AANP contact hours, and AAPA Category 1 CME credits. The program also participates in the American Board of Pediatrics' Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for reporting learner completion information.
