GS 813: Topics in Igneous Petrology and Volcanology
This course covers the petrological-geochemical characters of magmas in diverse tectonic settings, petrogenetic modeling of crystallization and melting processes, volcanic systems from source to surface, dynamics of lava flows, pyroclastic falls and flows, emplacement of various types of intrusions, volcanic facies in subaerial and subaqueous environments, case studies around the world, and important igneous provinces and events of India.
