The program focuses on both academic success and employability, providing students with a wide range of skills, including CV writing and professional networking.
Career Opportunities
The apprenticeship is designed to open up more career options for individuals in the scientific field. Having a degree can be a barrier to entry for many jobs, and this apprenticeship provides individuals with the opportunity to gain a degree while continuing to work in their current role. Skills and Experience
The apprenticeship provides students with a wide range of skills and experience, including knowledge of all fields of chemistry, laboratory work, and the use of instrumentation. Students have also reported that they have greatly improved their Excel skills and have been taught a programming language, Python, for use in data processing.
Recommendation
One student, Jamie Redfearn, would absolutely recommend doing a higher apprenticeship, as it allows individuals to develop their career while improving their academic skills and continuing to work in their current role.
