Program Overview


Program Overview

The Summer School Italy is a high-level training program designed for young scholars, researchers, and professionals interested in addressing the challenges of sustainable development through the lens of Integral Ecology.

Program Details

The program aims to create an interdisciplinary research and discussion space, fostering the analysis and reimagining of contemporary cities as places of peace, inclusion, and sustainability. With a scientific and applied approach, participants will engage in an intensive training program, guided by internationally recognized experts, featuring:


  • Lectures
  • Workshops
  • Project-based activities
  • Meetings with distinguished speakers and practitioners

Eligibility and Participation

The program is open to a maximum of 50 young participants (ages 18-30) with a strong interest in Integral Ecology and sustainable development. Selection is through a motivational interview, and sections are available in Italian and English (with translation available). There are two ways to participate:


  • Attend as a participant, engaging in the full training program
  • Attend and submit a paper or project idea, which will be evaluated for presentation during the Summer School and considered for publication

Application and Submission Details

Applicants must submit a registration form, along with a statement of motivation. The application deadline for participation is April 3, 2025, and admission interviews will be held from April 8 to April 18, 2025. For those interested in submitting a paper or project idea, the deadline is June 30, 2025.


Costs and Scholarships

The registration fee is €150 for international students and €200 for Italian students. Thanks to the support of partners and donors, each selected participant will receive a scholarship worth €1,200, covering the full cost of the training program. Attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses, although international students may be eligible for travel expense reimbursement.

Additional Opportunity

Participants will also have the optional opportunity to attend the Euro-Mediterranean Meeting on Integral Ecology in November 2025 in Taranto, Italy, with virtual participation available for those who cannot attend in person.
