The Dorothy F. Schmidt Doctoral Fellowship in Somaesthetics

The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters invites applications for the Somaesthetics Doctoral Fellowship. The successful candidate will be an incoming or current student in the College's Ph.D. program in Comparative Studies. Ideally, candidates will have an interest in a prospective dissertation topic or specific area of study related to the interdisciplinary field of somaesthetics.

Fellowship Details

• The Somaesthetics Fellow will work 10 hours a week as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Center for Body, Mind, and Culture.
• The fellow will work an additional 10 hours a week in either Fall or Spring in one of the college's allied departments.
• The fellowship includes full tuition remission for all program credits and a stipend of $25,000 for the calendar year.
• Additional paid employment could be available during the summer and between semesters.
• The fellowship appointment is normally renewable for up to a two-year period.
• Students who receive the fellowship will transition to a standard GTAship in a department germane to their program of study following their fellowship year(s), and will be supported for a total of four years while enrolled in the program.
