Program Overview


Nursing Administration and Financial Leadership MSN Program

The Nursing Administration and Financial Leadership MSN program integrates the caring philosophy into organizational management. Its core and cognate courses provide study central to advanced nursing management and financial practice. The program offers content and practice in nursing and health care administration and finance, relevant to primary, secondary, and tertiary settings in rapidly changing times.


Program Overview

The program can be taken completely online, and the needs of students in other geographic areas can be accommodated for the practicum. The concentration requires a minimum of 37-39 credit hours for completion. Full and part-time program options are available. The curriculum contains a minimum of 180-270 hours of required practical experience related to administrative and financial management in health care organizations. Students will find a preceptor who will mentor them throughout this portion of the curriculum.


Admission Criteria

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited university or college nursing program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • A 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credits of the baccalaureate program is required.
  • Undergraduate level statistics course and Undergraduate level nursing research course.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • One letter of recommendation from academic or professional reference.
  • Philosophy of Nursing Essay.
  • Current RN licensure.
  • An interview may be required.
  • Annual state/federal criminal background checks are required for all admitted students. A drug screen may be required.

Application Process

The application deadline for Fall admission is July 1, and for Spring admission, it is November 15. To apply, complete a Florida Atlantic University Graduate Application and upload the required supporting documents, including:


  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Philosophy of Nursing Essay.
  • One letter of recommendation from an academic or professional reference.
  • Current RN licensure.
