The Executive Certificate in Project Management (Evening) is a program designed to provide participants with the knowledge, comprehension, and understanding of project management methodology. Curriculum Description

The program curriculum covers the entire life cycle of a project, using A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Û Guide) as a basis. Participants will learn how to:

• Understand how projects are selected and initiated
• Build an integrated Project Management Plan and other key planning and controlling documents
• Apply good project management skills in many different types of projects
• Develop relationships and better communicate with project stakeholders
• Keep the project on track, successfully complete the project, and transition the results to the appropriate stakeholders

The ideal candidate for this program includes:

• Individuals pursuing a career in project management or with experience in the field but no formal training
• Individuals desiring to earn a PMI credential
• Certified PMPs who wish to obtain refresher training in PMI-recommended good practices

Program Requirements

The program requirements are set by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and include:

• A four-year degree and 36 months of leading projects, or
• A high school diploma or associate's degree and 60 months of leading projects
• 35 hours of project management education or training

Educational Background

The educational background required for the program includes a secondary diploma (high school diploma or global equivalent) and 23 contact hours of formal education in project management.

• A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Û Guide) & Agile Practice Guide
• Presentations, lessons, and assignments provided in a student workbook
• Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

Accreditation and Partnerships

The program is approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Florida Atlantic University is an Authorized Training Provider (ATP) and Registered Educational Provider (R.E.P.) of PMI.

Program Format

The program is offered in a live virtual format, with classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. The program consists of 24-28 sessions, with a total of 84-105 hours of instruction, equivalent to 8.4-10.5 CEUs.
