Baccalaur嶧t en Enseignement Professionnel

The Bachelor of Vocational Education is a program designed for individuals who excel in a trade and wish to train the next generation. It features alternating training between university courses and teaching internships in the student's own educational setting or in a center of their choice.


Presentation

The program allows students to acquire fundamental knowledge related to professional teaching competencies and apply them during practical training. The objectives of the program include enabling students to successfully integrate into the professional environment, acquire knowledge related to teaching competencies, develop a portfolio of disciplinary competencies, and engage in a professional development process.


Structure of the Program

The program consists of six phases:


  1. Insertion Professionnelle (6 credits): Introduction to the teaching profession and initiation to planning and intervention.
  2. Connaissances Fondamentales (24 credits): Fundamental knowledge related to teaching competencies, including planning, intervention, and assessment.
  3. Bilan des Comp彋ences du M彋ier (12 credits): Assessment of trade skills and recognition of prior knowledge.
  4. Formation Disciplinaire (27 credits): Specialized training in the taught subject, allowing for the recognition of extracurricular achievements.
  5. Perfectionnement Professionnel (6 credits): Professional development, including practical teacher training and optional activities.
  6. Bilan et Prospective (3 credits): Review and prospective, including a seminar on research in vocational education.

Admission and Requirements

  • General Admission Requirement: Admission to the University's first-cycle programs.
  • Specific Requirements: Hold a vocational, technical, or university qualification or equivalent, and have at least two years (3000 hours) of relevant experience in a company or in vocational training.
  • Documents Required for Admission:
    • Letter from a vocational training center attesting to the status of vocational training teacher.
    • Proof of 3000 hours of professional experience.
    • Official transcripts and diplomas.
    • Comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Qu嶵ec (if applicable).
    • Completed Information on the candidate teacher form.
    • Tolerance of commitment (if applicable).
