Microprogramme en Arts et Technologies
The Microprogramme en Arts et Technologies is a first-cycle program that aims to train artists, creators, and designers to conceive and realize projects that exploit image, sound, and movement in various forms. This program prioritizes interdisciplinarity and creativity, allowing students to update their knowledge and skills in art and technology.
Program Overview
The program is composed of two mandatory courses and four optional courses. The first theoretical course explores how technological advances have transformed the artistic experience. The final workshop, which takes place over eight weeks, invites students to design and realize a synthesis project that showcases their acquired knowledge and skills.
Optional Courses
Among the eight optional courses offered, four are already part of the Certificat en Arts Visuels (Infographie, Vidéo d'art, Animation numérique, Illustration et modélisation 3D). The other four courses are specific to the microprogramme: Art et mécatronique, Art et expérimentation sonore, Art et interactivité, and Projection illusionniste.
Partnerships
The Réseau Art Actuel, an initiative of the Regroupement des centres d'artistes autogérés du Québec, is a partner of the programs in arts visuels and technologies at the Université de Sherbrooke.
Admission Requirements
No prior experience or expertise in arts or technology is required, as this program is open to both novice and experienced individuals who wish to update their knowledge in contemporary art.
Career Opportunities
This microprogramme can be integrated into a multidisciplinary certificate (subject to approval) and, combined with the Certificat en Arts Visuels and another certificate, can lead to a multidisciplinary bachelor's degree with up to 60 credits in arts visuels. The program is offered in collaboration with the Faculté de génie (Studio de création) and the École de musique.
