Program Overview
Doctorat en Physique
The Doctorat en Physique program at the Université de Sherbrooke is designed to help students become researchers. The program allows students to specialize in one of two research themes: information quantique or matériaux quantiques.
Thčmes de Recherche
The program enables students to develop new scientific knowledge, which must be communicated to the scientific community at an international conference. By the end of the program, students should be able to assume the responsibility of a research project autonomously.
Procédure d'Admission
To apply for the program, students must:
- Submit an online application or use a printable application form.
- Provide university transcripts.
- Indicate the names of three referees who will fill out a confidential report.
- Pay the application fee.
Supervision des Études
A professor will direct the student's research work, providing a scholarship, logistical support, and covering travel expenses to present research findings at international conferences. Students are expected to participate in defining their research project.
Financement des Études
All admitted students receive a scholarship paid by the research director's funds. This scholarship covers living expenses and tuition fees for students from Quebec, Canada, France, or Belgium. For students from other countries, the scholarship may not be sufficient, but they may be eligible for an exemption scholarship from their home country or receive 50% of the additional tuition fees from the Faculty of Sciences.
Research Areas
The program focuses on two main research areas:
- Information Quantique
- Matériaux Quantiques
Admission Criteria
Students must meet specific admission criteria, including:
- Holding a master's degree in physics or a related field
- Meeting the language requirements (French or English)
- Providing transcripts and letters of recommendation
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees vary depending on the student's country of origin. Students from Quebec, Canada, France, or Belgium receive a scholarship that covers tuition fees. Students from other countries may be eligible for an exemption scholarship or receive 50% of the additional tuition fees from the Faculty of Sciences.
Program Structure
The program is designed to help students develop research skills and expertise in their chosen field. The program includes:
- Coursework
- Research work
- Participation in international conferences
- Preparation of a thesis or dissertation
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Doctorat en Physique program can pursue careers in research and development, academia, or industry. They can work in fields such as physics, engineering, or materials science. The program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen career. eoq eoqNote: Since the original text was in French, I translated it into English while maintaining the same level of detail and formatting. I removed any calls-to-action, contact information, and external links, and formatted the text in markdown as requested. If the input contained a 404 Error or was invalid, I would have returned only the string "NA" as per the instructions. However, since the input was valid, I provided the extracted program information in the specified format. eoq eoqHere is the reformatted text without the extra "eq" at the end and with minor adjustments to improve clarity and readability while maintaining the original content and instructions: ## Doctorat en Physique The Doctorat en Physique program at the Université de Sherbrooke is designed to help students become researchers.
