Purpose

The purpose of the Higher Certificate in Sport Coaching and Exercise Science is to equip sport coaches with the knowledge and competencies necessary for coaching athletes within a holistic framework. This includes principles of coaching science, knowledge of human sport performance, exercise physiology, and the ability to identify common sports injuries, all aimed at personal development.

Admission Requirements

• Minimum APS: 18
• English: 3 (40%+)
• An applicant with a Senior Certificate (prior to 2009) must have at least a minimum matric or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in the sport industry as determined by the RPL committee and in line with the UJ's RPL policy and proficiency in English.

Selection will be based on academic merit.
