Hospitality Management Program
The Hospitality Management Certification is designed for newcomers and working professionals seeking market-ready skills in the hospitality industry. This program blends online classes with optional property tours and talks with industry leaders to turn theory into practice.
Program Overview
The program consists of three courses, approved by the American Hotel and Lodination Association (AHLA), and upon completion, students can earn the Certified Guest Service Professional credential. The program focuses on building skills in sales and marketing, hotel operations, and personnel and financial management.
Program Details
- Duration: 12 modules
- Schedule: Tuesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. (online via Zoom)
- Property Tours: Optional, including locations such as Shamin Hotels, Grand Affairs Catering, and Gold Key/PHR
- Instructor: Stacey Shiflet, Adjunct Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry

- Refund Policy: Withdrawal requests must be made in writing 7 days prior to the start date of the course

About the Instructor
Stacey Shiflet is an experienced Adjunct Professor skilled in negotiation, team building, leadership, marketing, and marketing strategy, with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina-Columbia.
