Introduction to the FdA Contemporary Business Program
The FdA Contemporary Business program is offered by the University Centre Somerset College Group, in partnership with the University of Plymouth. - Marketing Principles and Practice: Covers the concepts that underpin marketing as both a business philosophy and a functional activity.
- Financial Interpretation for Business: Develops an understanding of the main sources of finance available to organisations and the importance of financial planning and budgeting.
- Introduction to Research Methods: Provides students with the knowledge and skills required to carry out an academic or applied research project.
- Professional Business Practice: Enables students to demonstrate the qualities and transferable skills necessary for relevant employment.
Final Year Core Modules
- Human Resource Management: Develops awareness and appreciation of the processes and functions of Human Resource Management.
- Entrepreneurial Thought and Innovation: Focuses on principal theories and concepts of entrepreneurship, analysing the link between innovation, opportunity, and entrepreneurship.
- International Perspectives to Management and Leadership: Supports students' preparation for leadership and the practice of management within a global environment.
- Financial Decision Making and Accounting for Business: Introduces accounting as the measurement, recording, and communication of financial information for business decision-making.
