Course Overview

This course is designed for individuals looking to enhance their professional development in childhood studies. With small class sizes and individualized support, students benefit from a supportive learning environment and industry-focused teaching and learning facilities.

Year 1 Core Modules

  • Critical Professional Practice in Context (NORD3006)
  • Challenging Contemporary Concepts (NORD3009)
  • Exploring Children's Narratives (PETR3000) This module offers opportunities to develop an ability to reflect upon a range of historical, philosophical, psychological, sociological, cultural, and other perspectives, and consider how these influence understandings of children and childhood nationally and globally. A focus on Health, and the Spaces for children, and childhood in society offers a sound base for learners to develop their own areas of interest.

Year 2 Core Modules

  • Globalisation from a Regional Perspective (NORD3010)
  • Dissertation (NORD3012) The modules shown for this course are those currently being studied by students, or are proposed new modules. Please note that programme structures and individual modules are subject to amendment from time to time as part of the University's curriculum enrichment programme and in line with changes in the University's policies and requirements.
