- The Philosophical Foundations of Social Science (TRUR3114): This module affords students the opportunity to critically explore the philosophical foundations of social science, questioning the grand narratives of the scientific enlightenment and their impact on modernity and beyond.
- The Contemporary Application of Social Science (TRUR3115): This module asks students to apply theories of contemporary social science to a context of their choice, considering the usefulness of theory in bringing about change.
Optional Modules
- Crimes of Harm: Investigations into State and Corporate Harm (TRUR3116): This module considers the complex nature of defining and measuring crime outside of normal definitional boundaries.
- Crime in Rural and Coastal Communities (TRUR3117): This module enables students to critically evaluate the various ways of defining rural and coastal crime.
- Social Justice in Rural and Coastal Communities (TRUR3118): This module enables students to critically evaluate the various ways of defining social justice in rural and coastal communities.
- Trauma Informed Practice with Children, Young People and Families (TRUR3119): This module enables students to critically examine the various causes of trauma and their impact upon wellbeing, everyday living, and education.
