Year 1
Core Modules
- Professional Project (TRUR3120): This module gives learners the opportunity to undertake a major computing-related project in an area relevant to the programme of study. It supports learners in managing their own research or development activities, planning a project from realization of an idea through to design, implementation, testing, and review, and developing specialist expertise within the project subject area.
- Emerging Technologies (TRUR3121): This module allows students to identify, evaluate, and discuss current and future technical trends and moral, legal, and social issues relating to the use or development of technology.
- Advanced Networking and Simulation (TRUR3123): This module covers issues relating to network monitoring and management, together with simulation technologies and the fundamentals of simulation design. Common monitoring techniques and methods of network supervision are covered, as well as advancing knowledge of networking principles and network design.
- Cloud Computing (TRUR3122): This module introduces and examines cloud computing, describing the software components from which cloud infrastructure and platforms are constructed. Methods for building scalable cloud applications are described and explained, together with the concepts of virtualization and the practical implementation of cloud computing infrastructures.
Optional Modules
- Advanced Cyber-Security (TRUR3124): This module covers issues surrounding the management of information security and the security of applications, media, and information within an organizational context. Consideration is given to common threats facing IT systems and the practical measures that may be used to reduce such risks. Issues related to security policies, risk analysis, and techniques for the investigation of cybercrime incidents are also explored.

Tuition Fee Price Changes
In November 2024, the UK Government announced an increase to tuition fees and maintenance support for the 2025/26 academic year, setting the standard tuition fee and student maintenance loan at 」9,535 per year. The UK Government has indicated that further fee increases may be announced this year and in subsequent years. If the UK Government does so, the University may increase annual tuition fees in subsequent years, which may include the fees for the 2026/2027 academic year, in line with the Student Contract and at all times in line with the maximum tuition fee caps set by the Government.
