BSc (Hons) Zoology Academic Regulations

The BSc (Hons) Zoology course has unique academic regulations that govern progression and module passing requirements.

Progression Requirements for BSc (Hons) Zoology Students are required to successfully complete specific modules to progress through the course. The key requirements are: * Progression to Stage 4 of BSc (Hons) Zoology requires the successful completion of the zero credit rated modules BIOL129Z at Stage 1 and BIOL225Z at Stage 2. * Students failing either BIOL129Z or BIOL225Z after exhausting all possible attempts, but having achieved 120 credits at Stage 2, must progress onto the appropriate generic 'top up' route, in this case BSc (Hons) Biosciences. * Students wishing to transfer from another institution onto Stage 2 of BSc (Hons) Zoology must successfully complete both zero credit rated modules BIOL129Z and BIOL225Z at the same time as their other Stage 2 modules.

Passing a Module Requirements To pass a module, students must meet specific criteria: * The pass mark for an undergraduate module (Levels 0 and 4-6) is 40%. * To pass a module, a student must achieve an overall module aggregate mark of at least the pass mark and at least 30% in all elements of the module.
