The iMayflower Innovative Placements team focuses on developing new, mutually beneficial models of knowledge exchange. This facilitates collaboration between capable, skilled, and knowledgeable students and graduates with local businesses.

Program Overview

The iMayflower Scheme provides opportunities for students and graduates to work with businesses on projects. The Virtual Internship Scheme is a key component of this program, designed in response to the pandemic. It allows current students and recent graduates to deliver a project for a business over 38 hours, with the students being paid for their work.

Program Details

• The scheme was developed to deliver mutual benefits, including additional capacity to businesses and a unique learning experience for students and graduates.
• Over the past two years, more than 200 projects have been delivered through the scheme.
• Many students and graduates have gone on to secure permanent paid roles with the businesses they interned with or work with them on a freelance basis as a direct result of the scheme.
• The experience gained through the scheme is recognized with a City & Guilds endorsed digital badge, giving participants a competitive edge in graduate recruitment processes.
