Introduction to the University of California, Davis

The University of California, Davis, also known as UCD or UC Davis, was founded in 1905 and is located in Davis, California, near the state capital of Sacramento. It is a public research university and part of the University of California system, known for being a "Public Ivy." In the 2025 US News comprehensive ranking, UC Davis ranked 33rd, and in the 2024 US News world university comprehensive ranking, it ranked 89th. The university excels in various fields, particularly in agriculture, environmental science, life sciences, and social sciences.

Notes on the Program

  1. Students can choose either the summer or fall semester.
  2. Based on the partnership between the universities, a $200 application fee is waived for each student.
  3. The tuition fee is subject to change based on the final budget of the California government and the decision of the University of California Board of Regents. All fees are subject to the official notification on the UC Davis website.
  4. Estimated living expenses are $1,500 per month.

Application Requirements

  1. Full-time students from related professions.
  2. GPA requirement: 3.0/4.0.
  3. English requirements (meet one of the following):

Selection Method and Time Arrangement

  1. From the date of the notice to the specific project deadline at 15:00, students who intend to apply will submit their application materials to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
  2. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will review the students' application materials, determine the recommended list, and send it to UC Davis.
  3. UC Davis will review the students' materials and determine the admission list.

Important Matters

  1. Whether the credits from courses taken at UC Davis can be transferred and used towards the student's degree plan will be determined according to the regulations of the Academic Affairs Office/Graduate School. Students should consult with their college's academic affairs office before applying and complete the relevant procedures before being dispatched.
  2. If the project changes due to force majeure, the school may make corresponding adjustments or suspend the project arrangements. Applicants must obey the organizer's unified arrangements.
