Master of Health Administration, Policy and Leadership
The Master of Health Administration, Policy and Leadership (HAPL) is a multidisciplinary program providing specialised skills in health policy, administration, management, economics, law, epidemiology, informatics, and analytics for future health-industry leaders. HAPL is a pan-University program drawing together every School's core expertise in research and teaching.
Overview
The program connects students with the health industry's future employers locally, nationally, and internationally. Scholarships, internships, and international exchanges are part of the degree, making it the only one of its kind in Australia.
Admission Requirements
- Enrolment restrictions: All graduate courses are subject to restriction.
- Entry requirements (onshore): A Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent) in any field.
- English language requirements: Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.
- Additional progression requirements/restrictions: Students must complete 36 credit points of core units and 12 credit points of electives to be able to graduate with the Master of Health Administration, Policy and Leadership.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of national and international healthcare policies, systems, and institutions.
- Describe and analyse the legal, economic, and social challenges of the equitable provision of healthcare, and analyse its implications for efficient healthcare financing and delivery.
- Exhibit effective communication skills to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Demonstrate high-level analytic skills to meet the demands of complex health industry challenges.
- Apply knowledge and research skills to develop and evaluate health policy.
- Display ethical management and leadership skills appropriate to the field.
