Bachelor of Arts Honours

The Bachelor of Arts Honours is a postgraduate degree that provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen field. This program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to pursue a career in research, academia, or industry.

Admission Requirements

• English language requirements: Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.

Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes of this program include:

1. Demonstrate coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of research principles and methods.
3. Review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge to identify and provide solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence.
4. Apply technical skills to demonstrate a broad understanding of a body of knowledge and theoretical concepts with advanced understanding in some areas.
5. Exercise critical thinking and judgement in developing new understanding.
6. Design and use research in a project.
7. Present a clear and coherent exposition of knowledge and ideas to a variety of audiences.
8. Demonstrate initiative and judgement in professional practice and/or scholarship.
9. Adapt knowledge and skills in diverse contexts.
10. Show responsibility and accountability for own learning and practice and in collaboration with others within broad parameters.
11. Plan and execute project work and/or a piece of research and scholarship with some independence.

Structure

The program consists of 24 credit points, which includes:

• Course Core: 24 credit points
  • Required Units: 6 credit points
    • ART501: Honours Foundation (6 cp)
  • Specified Electives: 18 credit points
    • Research Methods: 6 credit points
      • Select 3 or 6 credit points from the units listed. Students who opt for 3 credit points from Research Methods could also take up one 3 credit point unit - 500 or 600 level discipline specific unit with supervisor's approval.
