Overview
This course will prepare graduates for registration as a Registered Nurse within Australia and allow professional practice in a variety of clinical settings. The course provides a learning environment that encourages a caring therapeutic relationship between the nurse and people in health and illness, supported through holistic evidence-based nursing practice. Workplace consolidation of theory to practice and experiential and simulated learning opportunities will be features of the course in developing highly competent and sought after graduates.

Admission Requirements
- Enrolment restrictions: Enrolment is subject to restriction due to limited equipment and facilities, and professional recognition requirements.
- Inherent requirements: A National Police Clearance is required as well as a level of health suitable to meet the requirements of such a course and to meet safe nursing practice.
- Special requirements: On commencement, students will be required to meet WA Department of Health vaccination requirements, students will be required to provide copies of a current CPR certificate, Working with Children Card, Department of Health WA Criminal Screening Card and Manual Handling Certificate and successful completion of the School of Health Professions Maths Competency.
- Entry requirements (onshore): As per normal undergraduate admission requirements, plus a clear National Police Clearance and English language competencies.
- English language requirements:
- ATAR pathway students will require a scaled mark of 50 or more in English, English Literature or English as an additional language or dialect (ATAR English) or equivalent English.
- Alternative pathway students, including course transfers, must have English as their primary language and have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed in English in a recognised country.
- Demonstrated English competence via IELTS with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6.5 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking) or an equivalent score in either the TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or the OET English language tests.
Professional Outcomes
- Professional recognition: Graduates from this course will be eligible to apply to the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia for registration in the category of Registered Nurse.
- Professional accreditation: This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
- Accrediting bodies: The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
- Other information: There is a shortage of registered nurses nationwide. A strong professional education in the essential areas of acute, chronic and preventative health care across the lifespan will facilitate job selection in Australia and many overseas countries where Australian nurses are sought.
