Overview

This unit examines the learning theory of social constructivism and the models of learning with technology that it underpins. Participants read widely, explore a range of technologies and applications, and engage in a variety of activities to understand the pedagogies associated with e-learning. Peer learning activities and assessments aim to foster a community of learners.

Enrolment Rules

Enrolment in the Graduate Certificate in Education (C1153) or the Master of Education (Coursework) (M1313) or Master of Education (M1367) or Graduate Diploma in Education (G1025). International online offering is for Transnational students via TNE partner in Singapore only.

Learning Outcomes

1. Communicate and apply social constructivist approaches to learning and models of learning with technology.
2. Appraise different ways of using emerging technologies for learning.
3. Critique research literature related to emerging technologies and innovative pedagogies for technology-enhanced learning.
4. Propose the application of emerging technologies with appropriate pedagogies to achieve learning goals in a specific educational context.
5. Create and demonstrate the use of an eBook.
