Unit content: Fundamental elements of this unit are the skills diagnostic and skills development experiences encouraging you to reflect on and develop your own skills independently. Each experience within the unit:

• Gives you tools to assess your own capabilities in relation to a range of employability skills
• Encourages you to reflect on these capabilities
• Allows you to understand why a particular skill is relevant to your career
• Offers practical opportunities to develop skills in these areas

The career learning experiences are anticipated to fit around your timetables; as most activities are flexible and you can negotiate hours to suit your own time constraints. Successful completion of this unit requires that you demonstrate the ability to self-reflect on your learning processes and identify practical proficiency in the employability skill domains. The final assessment both gauges skills development and incorporates a goal-setting plan outlining how further skills development will be achieved in the future.
