Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the principle energy systems of the human body, and how those systems support physical activity.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system as they pertain to the exercising human.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of changes in the cardiovascular and pulmonary system in response to an increase in the intensity of physical activity.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of specific training strategies to enhance the three main energy systems in the human body.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of the effect that environmental conditions have on human physiology during exercise.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to collect various physiologically related variables during rest and exercise.
  7. Demonstrate competency in the analysis and interpretation of physiological data collected during rest and exercise.
